A discussion group dealing with all the problems of becoming a Catholic published author. Both published authors and as-yet-published authors are invited to discuss all writing issues as they relate to maintaining a Catholic perspective in their books (how a Catholic author approaches plot, character development, violence, sex etc. in our overly secular society, and gets his book to the author’s readers). Although aimed primarily at fiction, non-fiction authors are invited to participate since they face many of the same, as well as their own unique problems in the publishing industry. This group is not intended to simply be a site to announce and promote sales of a book; however, if a book is published, members should be able to inform the group, as well as the entire Awestruck network about their work through the discussion of the process of writing and publishing that they underwent. It is also not intended to be a “gripe” site (IE. if one has a problem with a publisher, traditional or self-publisher, or literary agent, a member can and should relate this while maintaining a Catholic attitude in their description. Therefore, name calling and other derogative language and comments will not be tolerated. All discussions should focus on helping our fellow Catholic authors in their quest to improve their story, and get it to the author’s readers.
