  • http://www.wordonfire.org/resources/blog/its…catholics-to…halloween/2133/ Thought this was an interesting perspective on the history of Halloween. I, honestly, have always enjoyed this holiday as simple fun with family and for its unique historical background (both pagan and Christian). It’s also a day unique to the American culture, even though there are closely related celebrations in places such as Mexico and England. Please, enjoy this article from a very nice source!

  • Hello! I am trying to learn St. Thomas Aquinas’ Prayer before Mass (and eventually Thanksgiving after Mass). Just in case anyone else would like to learn in too, I’ll leave it here. Have a wonderful weekend!

    Prayer before Mass
Almighty and ever-living God, I approach the sacrament of your only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I come sick to the doctor of life, unclean to the fountain of mercy, blind to the radiance of eternal light, and poor and needy to the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
Lord, in Your great generosity, heal my sickness, wash away my defilement, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness. May I receive the bread of angels, the King of kings and Lord of lords, with humble reverence, with the purity and faith, the repentance and love, and the determined purpose that will help to bring me to salvation. May I receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, and its reality and power.
Kind God, may I receive the Body of Your only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, born from the womb of the Virgin Mary, and so be received into His mystical body and numbered among His members.
Loving Father, as on my earthly pilgrimage I now receive Your beloved Son under the veil of a sacrament, may I one day see him face to face in glory,…[Read more]

  • For pets, I’m a cat person. I’ve actually been told that I will grow to be an old cat lady, and I’m perfectly alright with that haha! But overall, my favorite animal would actually have to be penguins 🙂

  • Some good news now: last night the Newman Club on campus started a women’s study about theology of the body. We will be reading “Man, Woman, and the Mystery of Love” and meeting once a week to discuss the book. We are also having prayer partners, at lest for this first week. Prayers that we each learn, grow, and encounter Christ through this study!

  • https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/for-popes-visit-obama-invites-a-pro-abort-nun-gay-episcopal-bishop-and-lgbt Our kind and respectful president welcoming Pope Francis, everyone. I don’t mean to be cynical or anything, but this is downright ridiculous. What’s worse, so many of the young Catholics in the US somehow think that the Pope is alright with this sort of behavior

    • My mom would say your president is  Well I would say something quite different! :swear: :wth:  :nono:

    • Nauseating. Praying, praying, praying for this upcoming Synod on the Family. Never thought I’d see such troubled times filled with heresy in my lifetime. We will get through this with God’s help, unceasing prayer and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • http://www.wordonfire.org/resources/blog/watch-bishop-barrons-ordination-live-today/4915/ So glad to see this incredible man (Fr. Robert Barron) be ordained Bishop! He has been a great help to me through his ministry

  • Remember that today is the birthday of Mother Mary! Happy birthday Mamma 😀
